Step into Spring with a Glow
The Spring blossoms are flourishing, birds are tweeting and the sun is making a welcome appearance once again. Every year, I am always pleased to see the first signs of Spring arrive. One of my favourite parts of the day is my morning walk with the dog with the blue skies up above, walking in a field with the smell of freshly cut grass. Spring always makes me want to reach for the brighter, pastel shades, and creamy textures, and of course, SPF makes an appearance again. Here are my favourite products for stepping into Spring with a glow.
On a good skin day, I will wear as light a foundation as I can get away with. I really dislike feeling like I have anything on my skin. This foundation is perfect as a sheer coverage, lightweight base, that works on most, if not all skin types. I have oily-combination skin and with the natural oils my skin produces, I get a lovely natural glow with this product. On drier skin types, it may look a little more matte, but still doesn't cling to dryness or go patchy on the skin. It’s magical like that.
When I’m looking for a multi-purpose, 2 in 1 product, that adds both coverage and sun protection, this is my go-to. It’s a sheer coverage so don’t expect it to cover blemishes or redness, but it will even out the skin tone and give you lovely fresh clear skin. For extra coverage, I recommend applying a little concealer under the eyes or areas you need it.
I have one of these on my desk, and in my handbag, so I can spritz when I’m on the go, or need a little refresher during the day. It hydrates the skin and gives you skin a plumping effect with hyaluronic acid. It feels wonderfully refreshing and cool on the skin, so as the weather warms up, you could even keep it in the fridge for a revitalising spritz each morning.
I tend to prefer bronzer during the Spring/Summer months and opt for a blush during the Winter. The gorgeous cream bronzers from Kjaer Weis blend effortlessly into the skin, and can be built up in layers for a custom look. Apply the bronzer with fingers for the best results, use the warmth of your finger to melt the product into the skin, blend through the hairline to make the bronze look as natural as possible.
A matte lip colour that is also hydrating and doesn’t feel dry on the lips is hard to come by. ZAO makeup has managed to achieve this miracle with their Lip Ink’s. These are always my lip product of choice when I need a product that I know I won’t have time to top up throughout the day. Available in 4 shades, a brick red, blue-toned pink, burgundy and a berry-tone, these feel soft and weightless on the skin, with no risk of cracking or gathering in lines.
