Natural Bridal Makeup Look Using Organic Makeup

Wedding season is fast approaching! If you are one of the lucky ones tying the knot this year, you are no doubt busy planning and organising everything down to the finest detail. One area of planning a wedding that can sometimes be overlooked by brides, is the hair and makeup. If you have a professional to do your makeup, or if you decide to do it yourself, it is an absolute must to have a trial run and test out different styles of makeup to ensure you have the perfect look for your special day.

It is a good idea to choose a look that is not too dissimilar from what you would wear on an everyday basis. You still want to look like you on your wedding day, so stick to a similar style and choose similar colours. You want to get a good balance between it looking natural, enhancing your features and adding just enough makeup for the camera to pick it up. The camera can wash the skin out and make colours look more toned down that they are in real life. Go slightly heavier on the blush, add some subtle daytime contouring, and line your eyes with a little eyeliner, pencil or liquid, to define your eyes and make them pop.

If you are looking for a little inspiration, here is a simple, natural look that will enhance your features without making you look too overly 'made-up'.

How To Create This Natural Bridal Makeup Look

1.best-natural-primer-for-wedding

The first step for this look is to prime the skin. This creates the perfect canvas for foundation to make it last longer. We used Couleur Caramel Makeup Base, which is suitable for all skin types. This primer revives tired complexions and perks up dull skin. 99% of the ingredients are from natural origin, ingredients such as Sweet Almond Oil and Kalahari Melon ensure your skin is getting all the nutrients it needs to look fresh with a healthy glow all day.

Next, we used Living Nature Soft Light's Illuminating Foundation. We wanted to give the skin a gorgeous 'lit from within' glow, and this foundation does just that. With a light coverage, and subtle iridescence, this is the perfect foundation to provide nourishment to the skin all day. Use a concealer in any areas that need a little more coverage, this is likely to be under the eyes, around the nose and on any blemishes. We used Couleur Caramel Dark Circle Concealer, the creamy texture is easy to blend and pigmented enough to cover dark circles and discolouration in the skin, whilst feeling lightweight.

Now onto the eyes, first apply ZAO Makeup Eye Primer, and then a wash of Couleur Caramel Sandy Haze all over the eyelid. To add some definition into the socket line, we used Couleur Caramel Coppered Chocolate.  Apply this colour with a small blending brush directly into the crease of the eyelid, blending away any harsh edges. Then as a highlight to the inner corner of the eyes, apply ZAO Makeup Pearly White.

4.

natural-liquid-liner-dark-brownLining the eyes is an important step in ensuring your eyes stand out in photographs. We opted for a liquid liner for a crisp, bold winged line. This one is the ZAO Makeup Liquid Liner in Dark Brown. A brown liner will create a softer look, for a more dramatic look, choose a black liner. We then applied 2 coats of Volumising Mascara by Couleur Caramel.

5.

We used ZAO Makeup Eyebrow Powder and a small angled brush in light feathery strokes to emulate brow hairs.

6.

Last, but certainly not least, we defined the lips with a natural coloured lip liner - Laughter by Living Nature. Then filled in the lips with their incredibly moisturising lipstick in Dusk. A good tip for helping your lipstick last all day is to apply one layer, then blot with tissue. Then repeat, apply a layer of translucent powder, then finish with a final layer of lipstick. Sandwiching in the colour in this way will help make the lipstick last through eating and drinking throughout the day.

The great thing about this look is that it suits everyone from light skin tones through to dark. It is a simple look that is timeless and won't look outdated in years to come looking back over your wedding photos!
